Last Saturday, we served as volunteers at a "Show Hope" booth. This is the second time we do this (first time was in 2008.) However, our daughter now understands a lot more and has many questions. A couple of the questions she asked me during and/or after the event were: Was I an orphan before? and are my birth parents dead? Thankfully, these were easy questions to answer.
At the end of the concert she told me how happy she was to be adopted, to have a family and to not be an orphan anymore! We hugged and kissed many times that night! So a couple of days after that event, we came up with the idea to raise funds for the benefit of "Show Hope" during the months of March and April because we will celebrate 6 years since her adoption at the end of March and she will turn 8 next month. She even told me that whatever money she gets for her birthday will be donated, too. Her giving heart makes me so very happy!
