Celebration of my parents’ 50 years together

We traveled to Puerto Rico last Friday, October 24. My 2 sisters who also live in Florida were already there as well as my nephew and his wife from Texas and my oldest sister who lives in NJ. The celebration took place at my parents’ house in Caguas on Saturday, October 25th. The day was filled with emotion as everyone worked on getting the house and ourselves ready for the party. It was great to be all together again…we are 10 siblings! And to see most of my nephews and nieces, one with his children, my mom’s mother and some of my aunts, uncles and cousins at the same time was priceless! Nowadays, very few people get to celebrate this milestone. It has been hard and we have witnessed the many trails and tribulations my parents have experienced. But throughout all difficulties, I have seen them rise to the occasion and handle everything with God’s help. My mother is a woman of faith, an exceptional mother and wife. I wish I had ½ her faith and determination and strength. May God continue to bless their marriage and our family!

"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mark 10:6-9
